Consultation and Supervision

Ongoing peer supervision and consultation is an integral part of ethical practice as a clinical psychologist. Dr. Isaac is available as a resource and mentor to clinicians seeking input on psychological report writing, test scoring and interpretation, treatment planning, medical-legal evaluations, and practice marketing.

Psychological report writing can be especially challenging when conveying findings to non-psychiatric readers or submitting medical-legal evaluations that must comport with specific forensic requirements. Dr. Isaac has 27 years of experience in crafting psychological reports that convey clinical findings clearly and succinctly to an array of medical, insurance, and legal referral sources. Her unique experience as a member of the CPA Ethics Committee, an Expert Reviewer for the California Board of Psychology, and ongoing role as a Utilization Reviewer provides Dr. Isaac with relevant insight into common report-writing traps and strategies to enhance the likelihood that requested treatments and UR appeals will be authorized. Dr. Isaac can also help clinicians improve the outcome of UR peer-to-peer consultations by modeling more effective communication techniques.

Medical-legal reports require special skills in constructing a fluid and comprehensive report culled from volumes of medical records combined with data from clinical review, mental status examination, and psychological testing. Dr. Isaac can assist Qualified Medical Examiners improve the readability and ratability of their evaluation reports, thereby increasing the likelihood of future QME/AME referrals. Dr. Isaac is also available to review and summarize medical-legal records and help clinicians prepare for depositions.

Dr. Isaac is available for consultation and supervision on an hourly basis. Editing and written feedback on psychological reports is usually completed with a two-day turnaround.
